I've done a fairly comprehensive outline for this story - or more accurately, for the first half of it. I have a vague idea how the whole story will play out, and literally mapping out the stages has had a remarkably positive impact on the story, too. I can see where they're going, and thus the emotional landscape has panned out clearly, too.
Very good news, indeed. I'm a little less apprehensive about the upcoming interruptions of the work while I go to the US next week for my stepfather's memorial service, if only in the sense of knowing where the story is headed once I'm emotionally able to continue with the work itself.
Still, it won't be easy. Keep a good thought for me, won't you?
